As the popularity of electric cars is increasing across the UK, the need for EV charging stations is also rising. Whether you need your own private charger on your property and want to install a number of stations for your commercial premises, we are the team to call. The chargers we offer come in a range of compact designs that feature single or dual charging sockets, smart energy meters, access and pre-payment card options. In addition, fast charging is available along with multiple electric bike charging options available if needed.
There are various benefits you can take advantage of by installing these charging points.
If you have just bought an electric car, or at least are thinking of purchasing one, one of the first things you’ll want to get sorted is an electric car home charger. Charging at home is one of the biggest benefits of going electric, whilst the costs of running your car are about to fall dramatically - smart charging with an off-peak electricity tariff can save the average driver over £200 per year.
A home EV charger is installed near your driveway or garage capable of supplying the power delivered to your car. EV chargers are also able to reduce costs and carbon by calculating the best times to charge and protects your home’s fuse by monitoring automatically power reduction if you’re drawing too much, and can link to solar panels to charge only when you’re generating clean power. The smart technology EV Chargers are capable of being activated by facial recognition, controlled by a wave of the hand, or adjusted with commands from Alexa.
The EV Charger will also be able to discharge your car, so you can support renewables and be paid for sending electricity back to the grid at peak times, and then charge back up with cheaper, cleaner electricity in the night (this is known as ‘vehicle-to-grid’, or ‘V2G’). Home chargers come with a cable attached (tethered), which you just unwind and plug into your car, or they can come with a socket (untethered), which allows for both a ‘Type 1’ car or ‘Type 2’ car to be charged from the same charger.
You could use solar energy generated during the day to charge your electric vehicle for free
You could use stored energy with solar batteries to charge your electric vehicle
You could use energy from the national grid to charge your electric vehicle
Zappi EV Charger is a unique and intelligent device that uses your self-generated energy from solar sources to charge your electric vehicle. It comes with three modes which it can seamlessly switch between and boosts the effectiveness and efficiency of your power generation. If you have solar panels, you can use any surplus energy you generate to charge your vehicle as opposed to sending it back to the grid. Not only will this reduce your carbon footprint and reliance on the grid, but it will also massively decrease your energy bills. If you don’t have solar panels don’t worry, the Zappi EV charger will still be of great benefit to you thanks to its unique e-sense functionality - it has the ability to detect when economy tariffs become available. You can programme Zappi to switch to the best tariff or use its programmable timers for when set tariffs are available. This way you will save plenty of money on bills by significantly reducing the cost of charging your electric vehicle. Zappi is a dynamic device and can, therefore, alter its charge rate when appliances in the home are switched on and off. This will improve home safety and bring balance to your property’s energy usage, preventing fuse damage caused by power surges and any shocking rises in energy bills.
Untethered compatible with all plug-in vehicles (Type 1 vehicles require a Type 2 to Type 1 cable)

The Zappi EV Charger is supplied with an energy diverter that is designed to be eco smart. Whilst connected to the internet and controlled by a smartphone app, the EV Charger and Diverter are linked to each other to monitor and make intelligent decisions about when and where to divert your power. This allows you to manage how much power comes into your property from the grid and how much from your self generated power. The Zappi eco smart technology intelligently balances a combination of factors such as carbon, cost, convenience and energy tariff to offer the best possible solution to your EV charging needs.
If you have a private driveway or garage you will almost certainly be able to get a charge point installed at home. You can choose to have the charger installed in your garage, outside on the wall, or mounted on a free-standing post.
Without off-street parking, plugging in to a nearby public charge point can be a better option than installing a home charge point.
When installing a new charger, you will need to have a high powered cable connected to your fuse box. This allows you to charge at up to 3x faster than using your a 3-pin plug, or 10x faster If you have a three-phase power supply (which some farm houses or commercial premises do).
The EV smart charger can time your charge to happen when the grid is at it’s cleanest, or when your off-peak electricity tariff kicks in. This way, you can save up to £200 per year, and reduce your carbon usage by an average of 25%.
If you are eligible for the OZEV grant, the cost of a charge point starts from around £400- £500 fully installed, after the grant.
