Worried About EV Charging Costs, Grid Capacity or Installation Disruption?
Many businesses know they need EV charging, but are unsure where to start. You may be worried about whether your existing electrical supply can cope, whether you need a costly grid upgrade, how staff and visitors will be billed, or how the installation will affect day to day operations.
At Celtic Green Energy, we look at your site properly before recommending anything. We assess your electrical supply, parking layout, charging demand, solar potential and future fleet plans, then design a system that works now and can scale as your business grows.

Commercial EV Charging FAQs
How much does commercial EV charging cost?
The cost depends on the number of chargers, power output, cable runs, groundworks, electrical capacity and whether load management is required. A site survey is the best way to get an accurate price.
Can EV chargers be powered by solar panels?
Yes. EV charging can be combined with commercial solar panels and battery storage so your business can use more of its own generated electricity.
Do I need a grid upgrade?
Not always. Smart load management can help balance charging demand across your site and may reduce the need for costly electrical upgrades.
Can staff or visitors pay to use the chargers?
Yes. Many commercial EV chargers can include access control, billing, reporting and usage tracking.
Is grant funding available in Wales?
Eligible businesses in Wales may be able to access the Workplace Charging Scheme. From 1 April 2026 this provides up to £500 per socket, subject to eligibility and scheme rules.
What type of EV charger does my business need?
It depends on how long vehicles stay on site, how many vehicles need charging, your available electrical capacity and whether the chargers are for staff, fleet, visitors or public use.
Can EV charging be combined with battery storage?
Yes. Battery storage can help businesses make better use of solar power, reduce peak demand and support EV charging at more convenient times.
