Plug in Grant Approved Electric Cars
The UK Government now subsidises the cost of buying new hybrid or full electric cars by offering to cover up to 25% of the cost with a maximum of £5,000 per car and £8,000 per electric van up to 20% of the total cost. There are also many other benefits including no road tax to pay, home ev charging point instalation grants available, free parking in some cities and parts of London, exempt London congestion charge, zero benefit-in-kind company car tax and of course efficient costs of just £1-2 for 100 miles of driving!
Electric Van Grants
If your business requires a van for short local deliveries then an electric powered van would make a lot of sense. The UK government offers up to £8,000 grant to cover 20% of the cost of buying a new electric van.
Companies purchasing commercial EVs can write down 100% of the capital cost against tax in the first year of ownership Electric commercial vehicles are exempt from the annual Road Fund Licence tax and van drivers are also exempt from Van Benefit Charge for the first five years of ownership.
